Summa Health names Jennifer Eslinger next president and CEO
Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health has named Jennifer Eslinger as its next president and CEO, effective Sept. 21, according to an Aug. 3 news release. Eslinger most recently served as president and COO of Rochester (N.Y.) Regional Health, where she helped lead the $4.2 billion integrated health system through strategic growth and operational transformation.

Earlier in her career, Eslinger held senior leadership roles at Detroit-based Henry Ford Health, Mobile (Ala.) Infirmary Health System, Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. She succeeds Daryl Tol, who has served as acting president and CEO of Summa Health following the system's acquisition by Health Assurance Transformation Company (HATCo). Tol will continue as president and CEO of HATCo and will work with Eslinger as she assumes leadership.
Eslinger was selected through a national CEO search following the transition of Cliff Deveny, MD, to CEO emeritus and strategic advisor, effective Jan. 1. Summa Health is one of the largest integrated healthcare delivery systems in Ohio, encompassing hospitals, community medical centers, a health plan, an accountable care organization and a multispecialty physician organization.
