Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Appoints Brian Mitchell as Chief Data and Analytics Officer
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has named Brian Mitchell its chief data and analytics officer, effective Oct. 1, 2026. The appointment was announced on Sept. 9, 2026.
Mitchell is transitioning from his current role as senior director of information technology and HIPAA security officer for OSU Physicians. He has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare data, analytics, and technology leadership within the OSU system, with a background in data strategy, AI innovation, and predictive modeling, according to a news release shared with *Becker’s*.
In his new capacity, Mitchell will lead the medical center’s Analytics Center of Excellence. His duties will include overseeing enterprise analytics strategy, data governance, advanced analytics, and the responsible adoption of AI. He will also collaborate with clinical, operational, research, and academic leaders to enhance the organization's data capabilities.
