Yale New Haven Health Appoints Daniel del Portal as Chief Clinical Officer
Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health has named Daniel del Portal, MD, as its new executive vice president and chief clinical officer, effective Oct. 5. Dr. del Portal joins the five-hospital system from Philadelphia's Temple University Health System, where he was chief clinical officer and senior vice president of medical operations.

At Temple, Dr. del Portal helped develop the system’s capacity management center and launch a systemwide addiction medicine service line, according to a Sept. 9 news release.
In his new role at Yale New Haven Health, he will oversee pharmacy, laboratory, rehabilitative therapies, diagnostic imaging, case management, and care coordination. His duties also include the strategic growth of the health system's clinical enterprise.
