Methodist Health System COO Pam Stoyanoff to retire Dec. 31; John Phillips named successor
Pam Stoyanoff, president and COO of Dallas-based Methodist Health System, plans to retire effective Dec. 31 after nearly two decades with the system, according to a news release cited by Becker's Hospital Review. The report, published Sept. 16, 2026, said Stoyanoff helped lead clinical quality, patient experience, employee engagement and operational excellence, and oversaw Methodist's growth from a three-hospital system in 2008 to 13 hospitals through affiliation and ownership.

John Phillips will succeed her as executive vice president and COO effective Jan. 1, per the release. Phillips has served as president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center for the past eight years and previously led Methodist Mansfield (Texas) Medical Center. In the new role, he will oversee Methodist's seven wholly owned hospitals and several corporate departments, working with senior leaders on care delivery and operations.
Methodist also promoted John Myers, MD, MS, to executive vice president and chief physician executive. Myers had been president of the Methodist Medical Group for nearly four years, a period in which the group reportedly grew to more than 95 clinic locations and 450 physicians and advanced practice providers. He will work with physician leaders and the executive team on clinical integration, innovation and physician engagement.
