UCI Health Appoints Melanie Joe as System Chief Pharmacy Officer
UCI Health, based in Orange, Calif., has named Melanie Joe, PharmD, vice president and system chief pharmacy officer, according to Becker's Hospital Review.
Joe is responsible for developing the strategic vision for UCI Health Pharmaceutical Services, per a LinkedIn post from the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences cited by Becker's. Her oversight reportedly spans the system's academic medical center, UCI Health Irvine and community hospitals in Fountain Valley, Lakewood, Los Alamitos and Placentia-Linda.
She also oversees strategy for retail and infusion pharmacies, specialty pharmacies and ambulatory pharmacy practice across the system, and serves as founding associate dean for pharmacy professional affairs at the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
